Saying he will go to see Herz and recommend to him the young pianist of whom Marmion has spoken, discussing his trip to Russia, saying the grand-duchess has asked for two additional concerts after those at the Conservatoire but that he does not know if he will have the strength to do everything, saying that he will find few of his acquaintances of 1848--only General Lwoff [i.e. Alexey Fydodorovich L'vov] is still alive but is completely deaf--, mentioning the singers Mario, Tamberlinck [i.e. Enrico Tamberlik], Tagliafico, etc.
